Why do they put animal parts in everything??
I found out tonight that toilet roll….yes, you heard me right, most TOILET ROLL is not vegan!!!
Toilet roll is largely made up of paper, of course, but shockingly to me…this paper is held together by gelatin (I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this before!). The glue that holds your lavy roll together is ground up animal hooves!!! For years many of us have been wiping our crown jewels with toilet paper seaped in gelatin.
That’s absolutely awful to me!!!
Fear not, it’s not all bad. There can be vegan toilet rolls. The ‘glue’ can come from two sources….
- Pectin – which is derived from apples!
- Gelatin – ground up hooves, etc!
I’ve obviously not had long to research this, but I can tell you that so far I’ve established that own brand loo roll from Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsburys is free from death!
I’ll keep looking and see what I can unearth for this topic.
In other news….I’ve became addicted to Alpro Dark Chocolate pots. They’re amazing and only £1 for 4 in Tesco at the moment. Ive had 2 today!

My eyes are agony today. I have suffered for years with wattery eyes, which causes sore skin and inflammation around them. It’s worse than ever today, literally cannot leave the house without dark glasses on. Pain is awful. Feel like someone has burned me with a cigarette in both eyes!
I’ve just smothered them in coconut oil and as such can not see clearly to write this…as the oil is soaking into my eyeball! 😂
Anyone who knows me knows how obsessed I am with coconut oil!
